The purpose of the Advanced Technology Demonstration and Pilot Projects is to help accelerate the next generation of advanced technology vehicles, equipment, or emission controls which are not yet commercialized. Demonstration projects are those that are beyond the research and development phase and typically within 3 years of commercialization. Pilot projects are early commercial deployments intended to enhance market introduction and bring down costs.
