Air Pollution Specialist

The Advanced Transportation Incentive Strategies Section within the Mobile Source Control Division is seeking an Air Pollution Specialist (APS) to join a team of professional staff that oversee a suite of innovative Low Carbon Transportation equity incentive projects designed to increase access to zero-emission vehicles throughout CA as part of the implementation of the recommendations within the Senate Bill 350 Low-Income Barriers Study, Part B: Overcoming Barriers to Clean Transportation Access for Low-Income Residents.  These exciting projects include, but arenot limited to, the Financing Assistance for Lower-Income Consumers, the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project, and Clean Mobillity Options.  In addidtion, many of these projects focus on increasing access to clean transportation and mobility options for lower-income residents, including those living in low-income and disadvantaged communities.

The Toxics Control Section of TTD is looking for a student who will assist staff on several air toxics-related programs, including but not limited to, the evaluation of air toxics, airborne toxics control measures (ATCM), and air toxics related regulations, programs or policies. The student will work with staff and a wide variety of public and private stakeholders to implement the Composite Wood ATCM, including: developing public outreach materials, interpreting the ATCM for regulated entities, reviewing and evaluating no-added formaldehyde-based resins and ultra-low emitting formaldehyde resins applications, review of third-party certification applications and reports, and evaluating new and emerging technologies and operational strategies to reduce exposures to formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products.
