DIAMOND BAR– Six zero-emission and low-emission trucks and buses will be on display Thursday at the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) as the California Air Resources Board (ARB) meets to consider a new regulation that will reduce harmful air emissions from transit buses. The meeting details follow:

Note: The AQMD is located near the Intersection of the 60 and 57 freeways.

ARB Board members will view the trucks and buses in the AQMD parking lot at 9:00 a.m.  Included in the viewing will be the newest hydrogen fuel cell bus that will soon be carrying passengers in Palm Desert and the San Francisco Bay Area and which will carry some ARB Board members to the meeting.  The Board meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. in the AQMD auditorium.

Also on the Board's agenda are a review of the Carl Moyer Program which reduces air emissions by offering incentives to companies that switch to cleaner engines; an emissions inventory for large, off-road engines; a report on the potential health and environmental impacts of leaf blowers; a hearing on AQMD's plan to reduce ozone; and funding for two research projects to study air pollution effects on children.

If some agenda items are not completed on Thursday they will be heard beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, January 28.
