sore -- POLL TO SET MEETING DATE AND TIME FOR SORE WORKING GROUP MEETING IN JULY 2016

Posted: 06 Jun 2016 10:03:52
The Small Off-Road Engine (SORE) working group will hold its next
meeting via conference call in July 2016. Air Resources Board
staff are polling working group members to determine the date and
time that best accommodates the schedules of members located
around the globe. To indicate your availability for the meeting
from July 12-14, click on the following link and select the hours
of each day that you are available:

The draft agenda for July 2016 meeting of the working group is
as
follows:

1. Accounting for additional sources of emissions in the design
certification method (see background below)

2. Suggestions for modifications to May 2016 ARB draft proposal
for amendments to the SORE evaporative emissions regulation

3. 2014-2015 validation study results

The agenda and conference call information will be sent to
working group members once the date and time of the July 2016
meeting are set. Suggestions for agenda items may be sent to
Angus MacPherson at angus.macpherson@arb.ca.gov or Christopher
Dilbeck at christopher.dilbeck@arb.ca.gov.

Background: The primary purpose of the working group is to
discuss emissions mitigation opportunities related to small
off-road engines (SORE). The high noncompliance rate and high
average emissions of design-certified equipment in the validation
study have highlighted the need to capture all sources of
evaporative emissions in the design certification method.
Working group member suggestions for ways to limit emissions from
currently unquantified emission sources such as carburetors and
connections will help to ensure design-certified equipment will
comply with diurnal emission standards.
