The Air Resources Board (ARB) invites you to participate in a public workshop on the FY 2016-17 Funding Plan for Low Carbon Transportation and Fuels Investments and AQIP. ARB staff will seek input on draft funding allocations, project categories, and project criteria for these programs and a statutorily required long-term plan for light-duty vehicle incentives. The workshop will be held at the following time and place: Date: Monday, April 4, 2016 Time: 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Place: Cal/EPA Headquarters Building Coastal Hearing Room, 2nd Floor 1001 I Street Sacramento, California 95814 A meeting notice for the workshop is posted at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aqip/meetings/meetings.htm. This workshop will also be webcast for participants unable to attend in person. The broadcast can be accessed on the day of the workshop at http://www.calepa.ca.gov/broadcast/. Directions to Cal/EPA headquarters and public transit can be found at: http://www.calepa.ca.gov/EPAbldg/location.htm. For more information about ARB’s Low Carbon Transportation and Fuels Investments and AQIP, please go to: http://www.arb.ca.gov/aqip/. If you have questions regarding the workshop, please contact Andrew Panson at (916) 323-2809 or andrew.panson@arb.ca.gov. Background: Cap-and-Trade auction proceeds provide funding for ARB’s advanced technology, clean transportation incentive programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, expanding the types of projects ARB has funded through AQIP. These investments accelerate the transition to low carbon freight and passenger transportation, with an emphasis on low carbon freight and passenger transportation investments that benefit disadvantaged communities. AQIP is a mobile source incentive program that focuses on reducing criteria pollutant and diesel particulate emissions with concurrent reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The Governor’s proposed FY 2016-17 Budget would direct $500 million for ARB to continue Low Carbon Transportation investments, including $40 million for low carbon fuel production incentives. The Governor’s proposed Budget also includes $28.6 million for AQIP projects. California is in a drought emergency. Visit www.SaveOurH2O.org for water conservation tips.
