arbcombo -- LCFS Deadline Approaching for Requesting Re-certification of Legacy Fuel Pathways and New Fuel Pathways
Posted: 19 Jan 2016 15:49:12
The deadline to request re-certification of a legacy fuel pathway (or certification of a new fuel pathway in 2016) under the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) regulation is January 31, 2016. Meeting this deadline will ensure the applicant will be assigned a new carbon intensity score prior to the end of 2016. Please use the link below to register for an Alternative Fuels Portal (AFP) account. AFP registration is the first step in requesting re-certification or applying for a new pathway: https://ssl.arb.ca.gov/LCFSRT/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2flcfsrt After you have registered in the AFP, please follow the steps available in the following documents: Recertification of Legacy Pathways: http://www.arb.ca.gov/fuels/lcfs/fuelpathways/legacy-01062016.pdf Certification of New Pathways: http://www.arb.ca.gov/fuels/lcfs/fuelpathways/newpathway-01062016.pdf The Low Carbon Fuel Standard is a regulation to reduce the carbon intensity of fuels sold in California ten percent by 2020. The LCFS is one of the measures adopted by the California Air Resources Board, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 38500-38599 (AB 32) to reduce greenhouse gases in California. It is designed to help clean the air, protect the environment, and drive the development of clean, low-carbon fuels to improve California's energy security and energy independence. If you have general questions related to re-certification/certification, please contact Anil Prabhu, Manager, Fuels Evaluation Section, Transportation Fuels Branch, Air Resources Board, at (916) 445-9227 or via e-mail at Anil.Prabhu@arb.ca.gov For any questions specific to AFP registration, please contact Greg O’Brien at (916) 323-0023 or via e-mail at gobrien@arb.ca.gov California is in a drought emergency.
