The meeting materials for the ISO 50001/SEP Energy Management
System Informational Workshop being held on November 10, 2015,
are now available. 

The meeting agenda and materials for an interactive workshop
activity (Strategic Energy Management Checklist) may be

The informational workshop conducted by Lawrence Berkeley
National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) to discuss the purpose,
structure, and benefits of ISO 50001-Energy Management System
(EnMs) Standard and the United States Department of Energy (US
DOE) Superior Energy Performance (SEP) program will be held at
the following time and location:

Date:  November 10, 2015
Time:  10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location:  Cal/EPA Headquarters Building
           Byron Sher Auditorium
           1001 I Street
           Sacramento, California 95814

Background:  
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has
developed an International Standard (ISO 50001) that specifies
the requirements for an energy management system that allows a
facility operator to develop and implement a comprehensive energy
policy.  Facility operators establish energy savings objectives,
set energy savings targets, and develop action plans to achieve
these.  The development of an ISO 50001 compliant energy
management system enables facility operators to improve their
energy performance while assuring compliance of their plans with
demonstrable reductions.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Superior Energy Performance (SEP)
Program provides two paths to confirm compliance with energy
efficiency performance goals.  These pathways allow a facility
operator to demonstrate the achievement of energy performance
goals using a number of energy performance indication models.
