Posted: 03 Nov 2015 16:03:10
A workshop has been scheduled on November 6, 2015 to present
guidance on re-certifying existing pathway carbon intensities
(CIs) and certifying new pathway application CIs under the Low
Carbon Fuel Standard regulation. In preparation for this
workshop, staff is releasing the following documents for public
review:

1. Draft Guidance Document for LCFS Re-certification
2. Draft Guidance Document for LCFS New Pathway Applications
3. Frequent Asked Questions (FAQs) related to re-certification
and new pathway applications in the LCFS
4. The CA-GREET 2.0 models (Tier 1 and Tier 2) for use in pathway
CI evaluations.(Note: As of November 3, 2015, the State Office of
Administrative of Law (OAL) has not formally approved the
regulation. The Tier 1 and Tier 2 models are posted on the
website as a convenience to stakeholders who wish to test the
latest versions of CA-GREET 2.0 before they are approved by
OAL.)
5. Link to the Alternative Fuels Portal (AFP) and LRT-CBTS
Reporting Tool website for submitting the fuel pathway
applications

These documents and links can be assessed at the LCFS Fuel
Pathways website

The Low Carbon Fuel Standard, a regulation to reduce the carbon
intensity of fuels sold in California ten percent by 2020, is one
of the measures adopted by the California Air Resources Board,
pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 38500-38599 (AB 32)
to reduce greenhouse gases in California. It is designed to help
clean the air, protect the environment, and drive the development
of clean, low-carbon fuels to improve California's energy
security and energy independence.
