+Background

Join the California Energy Commission and local representatives
for a discussion on opportunities to develop local
community-scale renewable energy projects in the North State and
rural communities across the Sierra Nevada range, with a focus on
woody biomass. Community-scale renewable energy refers to
projects that are planned, developed, and/or owned by a group of
customers and are typically sized less than 20 megawatts.
Community-scale projects are generally located close to
electricity demand and consist of locally-available renewable
resources, such as solar and agricultural waste.
