gmbond -- Proposition 1B/Goods Movement Notice of Funding Availability for Local and State Agencies

Posted: 06 Jul 2015 15:26:09
The Air Resources Board staff has posted the Proposition 1B
Notice of Funding Availability for Fiscal Year 2015-16 (Year 5)
funds. This notice solicits applications from eligible local and
State agencies to administer funding to reduce emissions and
health impacts from diesel equipment used to move freight in
California’s four trade corridors.

The notice describes the types of agencies eligible to apply, as
well as the two-step process for registration and application
submittal. Applications are due on August 7, 2015. Please see
the Program website at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/gmbond for more
information.

Background: California voters approved $1 billion in bond
funding under
Proposition 1B in 2006. The Proposition 1B: Goods Movement
Emission Reduction Program is a partnership between the ARB and
local agencies (like air districts and ports) to reduce air
pollution emissions and health risk from freight movement along
California’s trade corridors. ARB provides funding to eligible
agencies; those agencies then offer financial incentives to
owners of equipment used in freight movement to upgrade to
cleaner technologies prior to regulatory requirements.
