arbcombo -- Prop.1B Goods Movement Program Guideline Proposed Updates.

Posted: 15 Apr 2015 15:39:17
As a reminder, ARB staff will hold public workshops on April 27
in Sacramento, April 28 in Fresno, and April 29 in Diamond Bar,
to discuss staff’s proposed updates to the Proposition 1B: Goods
Movement Emission Reduction Program Guidelines. The Guidelines
define the responsibilities of the State Air Resources Board
(ARB), local agencies, and equipment owners, as well as the
technical specifications and funding amounts for eligible
projects

The Sacramento workshop will be webcast. The workshop notice and
the draft concept paper describing the proposed updates are
available at http://www.arb.ca.gov/gmbond.

Background: California voters approved $1 billion in bond
funding under Proposition 1B in 2006. The Proposition 1B: Goods
Movement Emission Reduction Program is a partnership between the
ARB and local agencies (like air districts and ports) to reduce
air pollution emissions and health risk from freight movement
along California’s trade corridors. ARB provides funding to
eligible agencies; those agencies then offer financial incentives
to owners of equipment used in freight movement to upgrade to
cleaner technologies prior to regulatory requirements.
