Posted: 06 Nov 2014 14:55:37
The Air Resources Board (ARB) has transferred the CleanAIR Systems, Incorporated PERMITTM diesel particulate filter (DPF) system verification from CleanAIR Systems to Caterpillar Emissions Solutions (Caterpillar).and changed the verification name to the Caterpillar DPF for Stationary. CleanAIR Systems was purchased by Caterpillar in July, 2010. Caterpillar has completed all the verification transfer requirements specified in the Verification Procedure, Warranty, and In-use Compliance Requirements for In-Use Strategies to Control Emissions from Diesel Engines, Title 13, California Code of Regulations. Caterpillar will sell new systems under the new name as well as provide support for existing CleanAIR Systems PERMITTM DPF systems. The Caterpillar DPF for Stationary system reduces emissions of diesel particulate matter by at least 85 percent (Level 3 Plus). The system is designed for stationary applications using CARB diesel fuel that may contain up to 20 percent biodiesel. Specific engine families and conditions for which the Caterpillar DPF for Stationary system has been approved may be found in the Executive Orders posted on ARB’s website at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/vt/stationary.htm The Regulation for the Verification Procedure for In-Use Strategies to Control Emissions from Diesel Engines was created and adopted by our Board on May 16, 2002. The goal of the Verification Procedure is to ensure that verified systems produce emissions reductions consistent with the verification level and that they are durable and compatible with various engines and applications. Additional information on the regulation is available at the following link: http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/verdev.htm If you have any questions regarding this verification, please contact John Lee at 916.327.5975 or via e-mail at jlee@arb.ca.gov.
