California Fires Air Quality Updates for week of May 6-10, 2013: . Springs Fire: With the changes in weather, air quality has improved substantially in surrounding communities. The air quality warning in effect for Santa Barbara County over the weekend has been canceled. The advisory for Ventura County has also been canceled as the Air District forecasts air quality in the good to moderate range for Monday and Tuesday, May 6-7. Panther Fire: The health advisory that was in effect over the weekend for Sutter and Yuba Counties has been canceled. Air quality on Monday afternoon was good and is predicted to be good-moderate for Tuesday, May 7. There are no advisories in effect for Butte County, as the weather has improved the air quality in communities impacted by the smoke from the Panther Fire. As the fires reach containment, some communities may be impacted by smoke from smoldering fuels. Residents are urged to use caution during smoky conditions, especially when working or exercising outside or if they have existing health conditions such as asthma.
