The California Air Resources Board (ARB) staff invites you to participate in two working group conference call meetings to discuss concepts related to amendments to California’s Interim Certification Procedures for 2004 and Subsequent Model Hybrid-Electric Vehicles in the Urban Bus and Heavy-Duty Vehicle Classes. The conference call meetings will be held at: 10:00 AM Pacific on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, and at 10:00 AM Pacific on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. S.: 1-210-234-0032 Passcode: 9847855 Detailed agendas and discussion documents will be posted in advance of the meetings at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroadhd/hdhev/hdhevtesting/hdhevtesting.htm Background: ARB’s current procedures for manufacturers seeking voluntary vehicle certification for heavy-duty hybrid-electric vehicles were approved in 2002. ARB staff is evaluating the current certification procedure and plans to propose amendments for the Board's consideration in late 2013. These amendments will focus on the chassis dynamometer testing portion of the overall certification process, with the goal of ensuring the revised test procedures better-apply to a wide range of vehicle types and vocations, and account for greenhouse gases in addition to criteria pollutants.
