Contact: Dave Clegern Air Resources Board (916) 322-2990 dclegern@arb.ca.gov On Tuesday, August 28, at 11 a.m. (PDT) ARB’s Office of Communications is holding a webinar for credentialed representatives of the media to familiarize them with the mechanics and purpose of the cap-and-trade practice auction. The practice auction will be held two days later, on August 30. What: Webinar for media to explain the upcoming cap-and-trade practice auction and how it will work When: 11 AM-Noon (PDT), Tuesday, August 28, 2012 Registration: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/124690569 Background: This webinar will look at the purpose and mechanics of this Thursday’s practice auction for cap-and-trade. The practice gives potential auction participants with a compliance obligation under cap-and-trade an opportunity for a “hands-on” session with the auction platform, and the ability to practice bidding for California carbon allowances. There will be a question-and-answer session immediately after the webinar—please limit questions to the auction process as we have limited time. **Note: The practice auction is by invitation only. Two members of the media are participating and will provide pool reports following the practice auction.
