zeb -- Zero-Emission Transit Bus Public Work Group Meeting
Posted: 23 May 2012 13:52:13
The Air Resources Board (ARB or Board) will be holding a series of public work group meetings to discuss potential projects that may be eligible for demonstration project funding in Fiscal Year 2012/2013. The ARB AB 118 Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) Advanced Technology Demonstration Projects has proposed the inclusion of two project categories in the FY 2012/13 AQIP Funding Plan that is to be heard by the Board at its June 28th hearing. If the Funding Plan is approved, ARB will move forward on soliciting applications for demonstration project funds in the two project categories identified in the plan. In support of that process ARB is holding its first public work group meeting in the Zero-Emission Transit Bus Category. The meeting can be attended either in person or via conference call. Meeting Information: Zero-Emission Transit Bus Public Work Group Meeting May 31, 2012 10:00 am to 11:00 am Conference Room 24-10 Air Resources Board California Environmental Protection Agency Head Quarters Building 1001 I Street Sacramento, CA 95814 Call-In Number: 1-888-957-9819 Passcode: 48118 Work Group Meeting Scope: During the work group discussion will focus on what types of projects may be eligible for funding, what is the state of the technology, how to apply for funding, and potential timelines. Potential projects in the Zero-Emission Transit Bus Category can include but are not limited to fuel cell transit buses and battery-electric transit buses. If you feel that this public work group meeting is not the forum for discussing your technology and wish to hold a private meeting with ARB, please contact the staff member listed at the end of this email to make arrangements. Background: AQIP’s Advanced Technology Demonstration Projects program provides funding to help accelerate advanced emission reducing technology into the marketplace that is on the cusp of commercialization. AQIP issues grants to public agencies to oversee the day-to-day activities of project selected for funding during the two year duration of the demonstration project. AB 118 provides $30-40 million per year (depending on revenues) through 2015 for AQIP to fund a variety of air quality incentive projects, including low-emission vehicle and equipment projects, air quality research, and advanced technology demonstration projects. ARB is currently developing a Proposed FY 2012-13 Funding Plan to be considered by the Board in June 2012. The Funding Plan is each year’s blueprint for expending AQIP funds appropriated to ARB in the annual State budget. Concluding: If you wish to participate in the public work group meeting for the second demonstration project category: Zero-Emission Off-Road Equipment, please respond to this email indicating your desire to take part in that meeting. If you no longer wish to be included in future Advanced Technology Demonstration Project email announcements please respond to this email indicating your preference. If you have any questions regarding the work group meeting or have general questions regarding the process for applying for funds please do not hesitate to contact, Mr. Earl Landberg, elandber@arb.ca.gov, or (916) 323-1384.
