ghg-rep -- Registration of Specified Electricity Import and Export Sources by Electric Power Entities

Posted: 24 Jan 2012 17:13:45
The California Air Resources Board’s (ARB) Regulation for
Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions requires Electric
Power Entities that import or export electricity to register
their anticipated specified facilities and units by February 1.
The ARB is providing a registration form for Electric Power
Entities to report this information. Electric Power Entities
that intend to submit a voluntary asset-controlling supplier
report must also register their anticipated specified sources.

The registration form is posted on the ARB website at:
http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/reporting/ghg-rep/ghg-rep.htm

Subsection 95111(g)(1) of the Regulation covers the requirements
for registration of anticipated specified sources of power by
Electric Power Entities. Note that all sources of imports and
exports of specified, directly delivered electricity must be
registered, even zero emission specified sources. ARB will use
this information to calculate emission factors for the specified
sources submitted, which will be used by reporters in their June
1 emissions data reports.

In addition, please do not include sources anticipated to be
claimed for the RPS adjustment. They are to be included with the
June 1 emissions data report. The Cal e-GGRT reporting tool is
under development and ARB anticipates roll-out for electric power
entities by mid-March 2012.

Completed forms should be emailed to ghgreport@arb.ca.gov with
the subject line: Registration of Specified Electricity Import
and Export Sources.

Additional information about the mandatory reporting program
