California Air Resources Board Applauds New Fuel Economy Car
Labels

SACRAMENTO - California Air Resources Board Chairman Mary D.
Nichols applauded the fuel economy labels unveiled today by the
USEPA and Department of Transportation.

“These labels are evidence that tough standards are already
delivering clean, efficient cars that save consumers tousands of
dollars over the life of the vehicle. I am confident that the
standards we are now working on with our federal partners will
continue to drive innovation and deliver even more savings and
greater reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.”

The new federal labels were based, in part, upon labels first
introduced in California in 2008. (See

California has also developed a comprehensive online Clean Car
Buyers Guide to help consumers choose the cleanest car.
