arbcombo -- New Verification Executive Order—Rubber Tired Gantry Cranes
Posted: 25 May 2011 09:00:20
The Air Resources Board (ARB) has verified RYPOS, Inc. active diesel particulate filter ActiveDPF/CTM for certified Tier 3 or older diesel engines used in rubber tired gantry (RTG) crane applications operating on CARB Diesel fuel. The RYPOS ActiveDPF/CTM active diesel particulate filter uses an active flow through filter followed by a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) to achieve an 50 percent reduction in particulate matter emissions qualifying it for a Level 2 Plus verification. Level 2 Plus verification means that the system will reduce diesel particulate matter (PM) emissions by 50 percent or more and meets the January 2009 NO2 limit. Specific engine conditions for which the RYPOS ActiveDPF/CTM has been approved may be found in the Executive Order. This RTG verification Executive Order is available on our website below: http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/level2/level2.htm The Regulation for the Verification Procedure for In-Use Strategies to Control Emissions from Diesel Engines was created and adopted by our Board on May 16, 2002. The goal of the Verification Procedure is to ensure that verified systems produce emissions reductions consistent with the verification level and that they are durable and compatible with various engines and applications. Additional information on the regulation is available at the following link: http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/verdev.htm If you have any questions regarding this verification, please contact John Lee at 916.327.5975 or via e-mail at jlee@arb.ca.gov.
