Mary D. Nichols Statement on Her Reappointment as ARB Chairman
SACRAMENTO: Today California Air Resources Board Chairman Mary
D. Nichols issued the following statement regarding her
reappointment by Governor Brown:
"I am delighted to join the Brown administration and be
reappointed as Chairman of the California Air Resources Board. I
look forward to continuing the work of ARB to clean California's
air, protect the public's health, and help drive the development
of clean and more efficient energy sources and technologies to
power our state's economy and generate new, green jobs."
The Air Resources Board is a department of the California
Environmental Protection Agency. ARB’s mission is to promote and
protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through
effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and
considering effects on the economy. The ARB oversees all air
pollution control efforts in California to attain and maintain
health based air quality standards.
