Extension of the Environmental Solutions Worldwide Canada (ESWC)ThermaCatTM system 175 to 275 Horsepower On-Road Verification to include up to 375 Horsepower Engines. The Air Resources Board (ARB) has extended the verification for ESW Canada’s ThemaCatTM system to include up to 375 horsepower on-road diesel engines. The ThemaCatTM system is verified as a Level 3 Plus diesel emission control system for use with 5 to 10 liters, 175 to 375 horsepower on-road diesel engines, except for those equipped with exhaust gas recirculation systems. ESW Canada also allows diesel particulate filter swapping and ThermaCatTM system redesignation provided certain conditions are met. The ThermaCatTM system uses a silicon carbide wall-flow filter with a fuel burner for regeneration to achieve an 85 percent reduction in particulate matter emissions. Specific conditions for which the ThermaCatTM system has been approved may be found in the Executive Orders which will be posted within ten days on the ARB website at http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/verdev.htm.
