Subject: LESBP -- SJVAPCD is now soliciting for applications on behalf of under subscribed air districts. Applications due September 30th. San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD), on behalf of the air districts listed above, is now in the process of soliciting applications for the Lower-Emission School Bus Program (LESBP) in the air districts that were under subscribed. Applications will ONLY be accepted for school districts within the following air districts: Colusa, Lake, Lassen, San Luis Obispo, Siskiyou, and Modoc. For more information about the LESBP, please go to: http://www.arb.ca.gov/bonds/schoolbus/schoolbus.htm If you have any questions, please contact SJVAPCD’s LESBP staff at (559) 230-5800 Background: SJVAPCD is acting as the implementing agency for the LESBP for 13 air districts. The primary goal of ARB's LESBP is to reduce school children's exposure to both cancer-causing and smog-forming pollution. The program provides grant funding for new, safer school buses and to put air pollution control equipment (i.e., retrofit devices) on buses that are already on the road.
