research -- Call for Abstracts - AGU Meeting
Posted: 14 Jul 2010 14:39:16
We'd like to call your attention to the session we are organizing at the Fall 2010 American Geophysical Union meeting, to be held in San Francisco on December 13-17 this year. http://www.agu.org/meetings/fm10/program/scientific_session_search.php?show=detail&sessid=7 Submission deadline for abstracts is the 2nd of September, or about 7 weeks from now. The abstract for this Session A07 is: "The North American West Coast is an area of diverse human activity with large emissions lying downwind of the large, nearly source-free North Pacific. This contrast provides an excellent venue to study the atmospheric processes driving climate change and air quality degradation. Recent research, both measurements and modeling, that addresses emissions, atmospheric transformations, transport and mixing, and removal are invited, particularly contributions elucidating the tradeoffs facing decision makers who must simultaneously address air quality and climate change. Short-lived climate forcing agents - aerosols (including radiative and cloud effects), tropospheric ozone, and methane - will be emphasized." This casts a deliberately broad net; among others, we encourage abstracts highlighting work from the 2008 ARCTAS-CA, the 2010 CalNex, and 2010 CARES programs. We look forward to all the contributions, and please feel free to circulate this notice to other interested colleagues. best regards, Tom Ryerson, David Parrish, Rahul Zaveri, and Eileen McCauley AGU session A07 conveners
