arbcombo -- Request for Information and Ideas from On- and Off-road Diesel Fleets and Video of May 6, 2010 Workshop

ARB staff is asking for information and ideas from on- and off-road diesel vehicle fleets to help craft amendments to the truck and bus regulation and off-road regulation, and has also posted a video of the presentations given at the May 6, 2010 workshops that covered proposed amendments to the two regulations. In preparation for proposing changes to the off-road regulation and the truck and bus regulation later this year, ARB staff is asking stakeholders to share the following information with us by June 1, 2010. This information will be used to help staff craft proposed amendments ARB’s regulations. On-Road Fleets (1) Truck Fleet and Financial Information Survey: We would like to gather fleet data and financial information to enable us to evaluate the impact of the economy on individual businesses subject to the truck and bus regulation. The survey also requests the DOORS ID for fleets that have off-road vehicles as well. To access this survey, please go to: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onrdiesel/documents/TB_Survey_10-0520.doc Off-road Fleets (1) Suggestions for Relief and Amendments to the Off-Road Regulation: This is the same survey that was handed out at the May 2010 workshops. To access this survey, please go to: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/ordiesel/survey.htm (2) Off-Road Operating Hours and Fuel Use Data for Vehicles: We would appreciate any off-road fleets sharing their total annual fuel use data with us. For fleets that have not already provided operating hours data to DOORS to receive reduced activity credit, we would also appreciate additional activity data. To submit this data, please log into DOORS, go to the green bottom portion of the DOORS Reporting home screen, select Survey from the menu, and click Take Action. (3) Off-road Diesel Vehicle Load Factor Data: If any fleets, dealerships, or manufacturers have off-road diesel vehicle load factor data that they are willing to share with us, please contact Nicole Dolney at ndolney@arb.ca.gov Data may be shared without indication of owner, serial number, etc. We are interested in any information that could help demonstrate what load factors are for various types of equipment, but also specifically at the engine control unit (ECU) downloads that display either an average load factor or a table of time spent in different load factor bins. ARB staff has also posted an audio/video recording of the presentations given at the May 6, 2010 workshop on the emission inventory updates and proposed amendments for the truck and bus regulation and off-road regulation. The workshops were held on May 6 in Sacramento, May 12 in El Monte, and May 18 in Fresno. The recording was posted to allow those who could not attend the workshops to review the presentations.
