The California Air Resources Board’s (ARB) Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) compliance deadline for meeting the in-use performance standards for model year 2002 and older TRUs is December 31, 2009. Orders for compliance technology must take into account delivery and installation lead times. Current availability of compliance technology is good, but waiting too long to order may result in longer lead times. After December 31, 2009, noncompliant TRUs will be subject to penalties up to $500 per unit per violation. There will be no grace periods for late ordering. Penalties may be greater if noncompliance continues. Don’t delay! Order today!
