What's New List Serve Post Display

The purpose of this list serve note is to request your
participation in a survey that the California Air Resources Board
(CARB) is conducting to assess the status of existing inventories
of noncomplying composite wood products intended for sale in
California.   If you are a distributor of composite wood products
including hardwood plywood, particleboard, and/or medium density
fiberboard then CARB can use your help.

As you may know, CARB recently announced a four-month delay in
enforcement of the pre-Phase 1 sell-through dates for
distributors and retailers of composite wood product panels
manufactured prior to January 1, 2009.  For more information on
the announcement, please refer to the following regulatory

As part of our implementation efforts, CARB is conducting this
survey of panel distributors to monitor the movement of
noncomplying composite wood products affected by the regulation. 
This evaluation will help CARB staff better understand the amount
of noncomplying inventories affected, the rate products are
moving, and plans for disposition of inventories of noncomplying
panels.

Note: Since retailers of panels have different sell-through
