The history, certification and testing requirements, Executive Orders, types of vapor recovery systems and equipment, installation and compliance inspections, compliance test procedures, and Enhanced Vapor Recovery are discussed. 04/15/2009 Calabasas Course 375: Smoke Management Training Workshop http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=375 This two-day Workshop will emphasize the importance of proper smoke management and its impact on dispersion. Speakers will include representatives of CARB, EPA Region IX, air pollution control districts, and National Parks and Forest Service. 04/16/2009 South Coast AQMD Course 290.5: Misc Metal Parts & Products Surface Coating NESHAP http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=290.5 The National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Miscellaneous Metal Parts and Products Surface Coating (MMMM) is a complex air rule that affected about 5,000 facilities nationwide, from large metal coating operations to small job shops, beginning in January 2007. This 1-day training will provide inspectors, permit writers, and regulatory personnel with practical information and tools to allow them to evaluate and/or assist NESHAP compliance. 04/17/2009 South Coast AQMD Course 290.6: Plastic Parts and Products Surface Coating NESHAP http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=290.6 The National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Plastic Parts and Products Surface Coating (PPPP) is a complex air rule that affected about 1,100 facilities nationwide, from large plastic coating operations to small job shops, beginning in April 2007. This 1-day training will provide inspectors, permit writers, and regulatory personnel with practical information and tools to allow them to evaluate and/or assist NESHAP compliance. 04/17/2009 SCAQMD Course 395: Fugitive Emissions Operator Training http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=395 This one-day course provides training in fugitive emissions monitoring procedures for technical field staff at refineries, marketing terminals, and oil and gas production facilities. Topics covered include: component identification and counting; performance quality assurance for portable hydrocarbon analyzers; preparing portable hydrocarbon analyzers for field use; component screening procedures; factors affecting accuracy of measurements; and emissions inventory overview. 04/21/2009 San Luis Obispo Course 100: Fundamentals of Enforcement http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=100 This three-day course is a basic overview of air pollution emphasizing visible emissions evaluation. Participants will be trained to perform EPA Method 9 for reading visible emissions and will have the opportunity to obtain visible emissions evaluation certification. 04/21/2009 Bakersfield Course 502: Portable Equipment ATCM http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=502 This one-day course is designed for both environmental regulators and the public and is designed to provide information on the following: 1) What is PERP? 2) Legislative history and rule development 3) Eligibility requirements for both engines and equipment units 4) PERP requirements - indentification, notification bookkeeping, etc 5) ATCM requirements 6) Inspection requirements . . 04/21/2009 Bay Area Course 290.3: Equiv. MACT, Chrome Plating & Anodizing http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=290.3 This one-day course is designed for both environmental regulators who are interested in enforcing regulations involved with the chrome plating industry. This course also satisfies the “training” requirements for owner/operators pursuant to section 93102. 04/22/2009 Fresno Course 502: Portable Equipment ATCM http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=502 This one-day course is designed for both environmental regulators and the public and is designed to provide information on the following: 1) What is PERP? 2) Legislative history and rule development 3) Eligibility requirements for both engines and equipment units 4) PERP requirements - indentification, notification bookkeeping, etc 5) ATCM requirements 6) Inspection requirements . . 04/22/2009 San Francisco - By Invitation Only Course 230.3: Metal Container, Closure & Coil Coating http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=230.3 This one-day course will review the steps to manufacture two-piece aluminum and three-piece steel cans, as well as the chemical and physical demands on coatings for the metal packaging industry. The extensive testing required for the Food and Drug Administration, as well as taste and product coating compatibility will have serious ramifications on one's choice of coatings. 04/22/2009 San Francisco - By Invitation Only Course 290.3: Equiv. MACT, Chrome Plating & Anodizing http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=290.3 This one-day course is designed for both environmental regulators who are interested in enforcing regulations involved with the chrome plating industry. This course also satisfies the “training” requirements for owner/operators pursuant to section 93102. 05/05/2009 Garberville Course 322: Adv. Variance/Hearing Board Workshop http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=322 The Advanced Course is a two day, 16-hour course which focuses on the more technical issues, ARB legal and enforcement insight, and particularly difficult scenarios. This course is designed for experienced hearing board members and is taught by ARB Enforcement staff, attorneys, and veteran hearing board members. 05/06/2009 Bay Area Course 511: Diesel Partiulate Filters http://www.arb.ca.gov/training/courses.php?course=511 Diesel particulate filter (DPF) is well known and widely used as an effective control of diesel en-gine exhaust.
