desig -- Staff Recommendations for Federal 8-Hour Ozone Designations

ARB staff's area designation recommendations for the revised federal 8-hour ozone standard are now available on the web. U.S. EPA adopted a revised 8-hour ozone standard of 0.075 parts per million on March 12, 2008. Under the Clean Air Act, states's are required to develop recommendations for area designations and submit them to U.S. EPA by March 12, 2009. Staff has prepared a report summarizing the recommendations and will present the recommendations to the Board at its February hearing. These recommendations will then be forwarded to U.S. EPA, and U.S. EPA will issue final area designations by March 12, 2010.
