harp -- Update to the HARP Health Database

Posted: 03 Feb 2009 10:17:41
The HARP Health Database has been updated. If you have
downloaded the database prior to 2/3, please download and install
the latest database. Under directions from OEHHA, the oral
chronic Reference Exposure Level (REL) for arsine was removed.
In addition, acute RELs with longer averaging periods (e.g.,
4-hr, 6-hr, and 7-hr) will now use the 1-hr averaging period.
This includes:

•	Arsenic & inorganic arsenic compounds
•	Benzene
•	Carbon disulfide
•	Carbon tetrachloride
•	Chloroform
•	Ethylene glycol monoethyl ether
•	Ethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate
•	Ethylene glycol monomethyl ether

You may download the February 2009 version of the health
database at http://www.arb.ca.gov/toxics/harp/software/health.mdb
. In order to use the new health database, you must replace the
health database (health.mdb) under the HARP program directory
(typically c:HARP) with this file.

For more information on the changes to the HARP Health Database,
please download the zip file at
http://www.arb.ca.gov/toxics/harp/software/feb2009healthtablechanges.zip
. Note that changes made in January are also included in this
file.

For more information about the newly adopted RELs, please visit
OEHHA’s website at
http://www.oehha.ca.gov/air/hot_spots/rels_dec2008.html .

Note that the 8-hour RELs are not included in the HARP program.
These heath values will be added when OEHHA approves the final
guidance document (Part V).
