vsr -- Ocean-Going Vessel Speed Reduction Survey

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is requesting your participation in the Ocean-Going Vessel Speed Reduction Survey (Survey). This Survey is designed for ship owners/operators (both U.S. and foreign-flagged) and charterers that visited a California port in 2007. Your participation in this Survey will help us to determine the economic impacts that a vessel speed reduction program or measure may have on the shipping industry. Your input is needed since the information you provide will be used to help us decide whether we move forward with a voluntary, incentive-based, or regulatory measure. All owners/operators of ocean going vessels and charterers are required to complete the Survey. State law authorizes the ARB to request and gather information required to determine if regulations are required to protect public health. ARB is requesting you complete and return the Survey by January 30, 2009. The survey can be found on the VSR website located at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/ports/marinevess/vsr/vsr.htm
