Posted: 16 Dec 2008 15:24:25
ARB Staff would like to clarify the purpose of two upcoming events related to the In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation (off-road regulation). On Friday December 19, 2008, a workshop will be held in Sacramento from 9 am until 1 pm to discuss proposed minor modifications to the off-road regulation, including an extension of the early double credit deadline for the installation of verified diesel emission control strategies (VDECS). Additional information is available online at: www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/ordiesel/documents/ord1219workshop.pdf including the time and location of the workshop, as well as instructions on how to view the workshop via webcast. Staff would like to note that this workshop is not one of the off-road training seminars that are currently being conducted across the state. For those interested in an off-road training seminar, one will be held in Sacramento on Monday, December 22, 2008. For additional information on this training seminar, please see description below. On Monday December 22, 2008, ARB staff will be holding a training seminar on the off-road regulation in Sacramento to assist fleet owners with their compliance efforts. This free training seminar, which is the 16th offered by staff across the State, will provide an in depth presentation of the regulation and how to comply, a discussion of record keeping and vehicle labeling requirements, a review of exhaust retrofit products currently available, and information about grant opportunities. In addition, participants will have an opportunity to speak one-on-one with providers of exhaust retrofit devices. Following the general training session fleet owners will have the opportunity to meet with an ARB staff member and obtain training on the Diesel Off-Road On-Line Reporting System (DOORS). During these individual trainings, staff will be available to show fleets how to enter their data into the DOORS system. These individual trainings are by appointment only and limited to 30 minutes. To find out more information about the upcoming free training sessions and to register, please go to http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/ordiesel/documents/ordclasses_fall08.pdf and view the announcement.
