arbcombo -- Draft Diesel Particulate Matter Mitigation Plan for One Southern California Railyard

As part of its efforts to promote a comprehensive railyard emissions reduction program, staff of the California Air Resources Board (ARB), in cooperation with BNSF Railway (BNSF), has released the initial draft mitigation plan to reduce emissions at the BNSF Sheila-Mechanical Railyard. This document can be found on the ARB Railyard HRA and Mitigation Plans website: http://www.arb.ca.gov/railyard/hra/hra.htm. The BNSF Sheila-Mechanical railyard initial draft mitigation plan is part of the first phase of six railyard mitigation plans to be developed by the Air Resources Board, Union Pacific and BNSF Railway (BNSF) railroads in 2008. Public comments are encouraged via writing, email, or phone call. A notice should also be released shortly with public meeting dates, times, and locations for each of the first phase of six railyard initial draft mitigation plans. These meetings will provide the public with an opportunity to discuss and provide verbal and written comments on the six initial draft railyard mitigation plans. These public meetings are tentatively planned to be held in October, 2008. Public comments will also be accepted at least 30 days after the public meetings.
