cc -- Urban Forest Project Protocol - Public workshop on July 29

Posted: 24 Jul 2008 13:24:27
The Air Resources Board staff invites you to participate in a
public workshop to discuss the draft Urban Forest Project
Protocol on July 29, 2008 in Sacramento. This is a reminder that
the Air Resources Board (ARB) staff invites you to participate in
a public workshop to discuss the draft Urban Forest Project
Protocol developed by the California Climate Action Registry
(CCAR)in conjunction with CALFIRE and the USDA Forest Service.
Urban forestry has become a focus of interest as a means for
reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide, while at the same time
providing other services such as building energy use savings
through tree shade and amelioration of the urban heat island
effect. The goal of the Urban Forest Project Protocol is to
provide a credible methodology for accounting and reporting the
effects of urban forests on greenhouse gases (GHGs).
