California’s Auto Crackdown Reinforced by Road Emissions Uptick.
California’s advocates for fuel economy standards and
zero-emission vehicle mandates should toughen their rules,
according to a non-profit that said road emissions have undercut

Firm wants to burn methane leaking from Utah coal mine — creating
credits to sell to carbon-emitting companies. By burning the
greenhouse gas escaping from the retired West Ridge mine, a
Colorado firm plans to help California companies that need to
offset their own carbon emissions. Coal and trona mines are a big
source of methane emissions, a potent greenhouse gas.

Trump administration is choosing to let key climate advisory
councils expire without renewing them. The Trump administration
has quietly disbanded a growing number of scientific advisory
committees, raising concerns that the latest research on climate

From global warming to redistricting: Is Arnold back? It was ‘way
back in 1984 when Arnold Schwarzenegger first uttered the movie

Midwestern agriculture stands to lose with climate change
skeptics in charge. Agriculture is central to Missouri’s economy.
In 2016, agriculture, forestry and related industries comprised
9.3 percent of the state’s economy and 10.5 percent of its jobs.

Clearing the Air, Ports Step up to Green Initiatives. The Ports
of L.A. and Long Beach rolled out their 2017 “Clean Air Action
Plan” (CAAP) this July aggressively stepping up air quality
standards for the region. Originally adopted in 2006, the plan
has steadily reduced emissions through the purchase of alternate
fuel vehicles at the port and the imposition of a “Clean Truck
Program” (CTP).

New study finds soil carbon losses nearly equal to total
emissions from deforestation. The first effort to spatially
quantify global soil carbon loss revealed that agriculture has
removed 133 billion tons of carbon from the top 2 meters of soil,
with the rate of loss increasing dramatically in the past 200
