The 2010 emission standards for heavy-duty engines have
established a limit for oxides of nitrogen (NOX) emissions of
0.20 g/bhp-hr, a 90% reduction from the previous emission
standards. However, it is projected that even when the entire
on-road fleet of heavy-duty vehicles operating in California is
compliant with the 2010 NOX emission standards, the upcoming
National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) requirements for
ambient particulate matter and ozone will not be achieved in
California without further significant reduction in NOX emissions
from the heavy-duty vehicles.

AIR POLLUTION

Air pollution doesn’t just harm humans – it is destroying nature
too. You may never have heard of cow parsley syndrome, yet it’s
been visible over much of Britain for the past month – the
spectacle of country roads fringed with a dense throng of tall
white feathery flowers, three- to four-feet high, which many
people now think of as an attractive addition to the landscape.

How climate change and air pollution can affect your health.
President Donald Trump's decision to pull out of the landmark
Paris climate agreement could have far reaching consequences on
climate and fossil fuel emissions in the future. While climate
change and pollution are often discussed in terms of
environmental damage, they can also greatly impact public health.

China likely to gain as US withdraws from Paris agreement.
President Donald Trump’s pullback from a global climate pact

AP FACT CHECK: Holes in Trump’s reasoning on climate pullout.
Announcing that the U.S. will withdraw from the Paris climate

Climate change could foul up precipitation worldwide. Just this
month alone, climate change has been blamed for sleepless nights,
trees moving West, and now it's causing a new problem: Weird
rainfall. The new study, which appeared in the journal Science

Chevy’s electric Bolt creeps along while Tesla prepares a sprint.
Elon Musk’s perpetual joker grin is probably a little wider
today. The Chevrolet Bolt, the proletariat machine that beat his

not bolting at all. Creeping would be a better word. After six
months on the market, only 6,529 Bolts have found their way out

Trump just gave the world the middle finger. Here’s what has to
happen now. Now that President Trump and the Republican Party
have told the rest of the world to get lost, there is a way for
Democrats to step up and signal to other countries that the
United States remains committed to combating the long-term threat
of global warming — even if Trump and the GOP are determined to
render the United States a global outlier.

Editorial: Getting beyond Paris. Candidate Donald Trump made a
promise; yesterday President Trump kept that promise, while
leaving the door open for a renegotiated “fairer” deal. What has
gotten lost amid all the entirely predictable hot-air spewing is
that the Paris agreement was always more symbolism than
substance. It was an entirely voluntary agreement — not binding
on any of the member countries that signed it.
