Subject | need to consider bicycles as zero emissions vehicles |
Comment | Cycling is already an important form of transportion and unfortunately under-utilizaed in California and the United States at large. Cycling is affordable, effective, fun, and offers a multitude of co-benefits (e.g., health, not to mention happiness). Cycling should not be left out of the ARB's Zero Emission Vehicle Program. Along with the health co-benifits, cycling brings sizable climate co-benefits, as rigorously assessed by the 2013 peer-reviewed study of the California Department of Public Health authored by Maizlish et. al. and titled, "Health Cobenefits and Transportation-Related Reductions in Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the San Francisco Bay Area". The article is available in the April 2013 issue of the American Journal of Public Health. |
