As a mechanical engineer I have long advocated to friends, family
and business associates that they maintain their tire pressure to
improve fuel economy.  Collectively we could save many gallons of
fuel this way.

However, to regulate tire pressure as a defacto environmental
crime puinishable by fine and imprisionment via this proposed
regulation in inconscionable.  This type of punishment should not
be enacted into law by unelected officals but rather by ballot
initiative or by the legislature to ensure that all interested
persons are represented.
