The proposed regulation is not only misguided but will surely make
California the laughing stock of the nation. What proof will you
require of us with the training and expertise to service our
vehicle in our homes? I have been in the maintenance field for over
20 years and don’t trust most mechanics to blow their own noses. If
I take my vehicle in for service what is to stop a technician from
bleeding air out of my tires? I am sure there will then be a fee
for the “extra” service mandated by the regulation. Since we are
talking about proper maintenance, I am sure prior to this
regulation being adopted California will address all road
conditions that may cause accelerated wear or damage to tires (pot
holes, road debris etc.)
You may also be unaware of the recent developments regarding the
data and the misrepresentation of it, used to determine the effects
of “global warming”. I am also reasonably sure that you are not
addressing natural causes of greenhouse gases that are far more
substantial than the minuscule change in emissions caused by under
inflated tires. (i.e. Volcanic eruptions and if you prefer a
example closer to home the Station Fire)
In short if this regulation is put into practice, I will make it
my personnel crusade to bring about the changes necessary in
government to limit this kind of abuse of office.
Thank you for your time.
