Dear ARB Board Members,

This letter is in support of the Proposed AB 118 Air Quality
Improvement Program Funding Plan for fiscal year 2009-2010 for
electric agricultural work vehicle.

As stated in the Proposed Plan, AQIP's primary principles for
projects like this are to achieve higher air quality standards,
choose projects that are ready to launch and offer consumers new
choices.

One company that clearly meets these principles is Barefoot Motors
with its 100% electric ATV's. With the abundance of gas powered
ATVs used in the SJV for commercial purposes it is imperative that
we offer a choice that reduces our emissions impact on the
environment.

Providing a rebate to help subsidize the cost of a high - quality
100% electric ATV is imperative to help start the shift and market
transformation to environmentally-friendly, quality alternatives.
The fact that BareFoot Motor's 100% electric ATV was designed from
the ground up (not just a conversion like all others), offering the
power and performance required for a full day of work on a ranch or
farm, demands a higher sticker price and thus the financial
assistance necessary to introduce a NEW Air Quality Improvement
Alternative to current choices. Initial subsidization for new
technology like this is proven to work and can help spark a strong
emergence of high quality electric ATVs and work vehicles into our
community.

I strongly recommend the adoption of the zero-emmission
agricultural utility terrain vehicle rebate project at the proposed
funding level of 1.3 million.

Thank you for your support.
