Previous LCFS Method 1 Lookup Table

This page last reviewed February 11, 2016

The Low Carbon Fuel Standard regulation was approved by the Board on April 23, 2009 and became law on January 12, 2010. The regulation has several different methods for establishing carbon intensities, the currency upon which the LCFS is based. In 2009, these methods were referred to as Method 1 and 2A/2B. Method 1 establishes default values for a number of specified fuel pathways, listed in the Method 1 Lookup Table. Regulated parties may choose to use the default pathways to calculate credits and deficits. In 2015, ARB approved the re-adoption of the LCFS, which also included moving from the Method 1 and 2A/2B approach to a two-tiered approach, called Tier 1 and Tier 2.

This webpage provides the historical information on how the Method 1 Lookup Table was established for transportation fuels under the previous LCFS regulation. The information under the "Updated version" column is only valid until December 31, 2016. All other information is no longer valid. Please see the Fuel Pathway webpage to obtain a carbon intensity score.
