LCFS Utility Rebate Programs

This page last reviewed April 3, 2019

Under the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) regulation, the Electrical Distribution Utilities (EDUs) that opted into the LCFS program are required to use their LCFS credit proceeds to benefit current or future Electric vehicle (EV) customers. The California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) also directs the investor-owned electric and natural gas utilities to allocate the LCFS revenue to their customers. These LCFS rebate programs are in addition to the existing state and federal EV incentives.
