Fruitvale and Oakland Community Meeting to Discuss Special Air Monitoring


The Air Resources Board (ARB) invites the communites of Fruitvale and Oakland to a community meeting Saturday, March 10, 2001 at Lockwood Elementary School to learn more about a special study to measure the air pollution that children breathe in the areas where they live play. The ARB would like to hear comments and suggestions, from the local community, about air pollution sources in Fruitvale and where the portable monitoring equipment might be placed.

Wilmington Park Community Meeting to Discuss Special Air Monitoring


The Air Resources Board (ARB) invites the community of Wilmington Park to a community meeting Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at Wilmington Park Elementary School to learn more about a special study to measure the air pollution that children breathe in the areas where they live play. The ARB would like to hear comments and suggestions, from the local community, about air pollution sources in Wilmington Park and where the portable monitoring equipment might be placed.

The Air Resources Board (Board) and the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (Office) invite you to participate in a public workshop offered in two locations and an Air Quality Advisory Committee meeting (preliminary agendas are attached to the workshop notice linked above). The workshops and meeting will discuss a joint Board and Office staff report (which can be found at the links listed below) on the adequacy of existing health-based ambient air quality standards to protect public health, including infants and children. Written comments should be submitted by October 4, 2000, in order to be considered at the October meeting of the Air Quality Advisory Committee. Further opportunities for comment will occur before and at the Air Resources Board hearing to consider the recommendations of this report, scheduled for December 7 and 8, 2000.
