Reaccreditation and Webinar for Existing MRR Verifiers

You are receiving this email to convey important information regarding our upcoming annual webinar training, and reaccreditation requirements.

February 20, 2018 Training Webinar

The Mandatory Reporting Regulation (MRR) requires accredited verifiers to participate in routine and ongoing verifier training.  Our next scheduled training will be a webinar on February 20, 2018, at 1 p.m. Pacific Time.  Register for the webinar if you plan to view it in real time.

Following the live webinar, a recorded version will also be made available, and may be accessed using the same username and password as last year.  The password was emailed to you on March 30, 2016, and is not your Cal e-GGRT password.

Please ensure you view the webinar (either live or recorded) and review posted guidance as you begin providing verification services next year.  The webinar will include a discussion of updates to MRR, highlight findings and best practices from last year’s oversight audits, and highlight new guidance documents.  The webinar will also include topics specific to electric power entity (EPE) verifications for those verifiers participating on EPE verification teams.

Verifier Reaccreditation Requirements

Reaccreditation is required every three years under section 95132(c)(4). If either: 1) your Executive Order begins with “H-15”, or 2) you are now eligible to upgrade your accreditation to lead verifier, then please submit an application to by February 1, 2018.

Along with the application, you must also take the required reaccreditation exam.

Your completed exam must be submitted by February 1, 2018.  The exam is open-book, with no time limit (other than the February 1, 2018, application deadline).  To maintain exam integrity, we request that you not discuss the questions or answers with anyone.  You may fill out the exam in writing and scan it, or you may complete the exam electronically.  If you do not pass the exam, an opportunity for a retake exam will be made available to you.

Alternatively, if your Executive Order does not expire in 2018 (i.e., your EO starts with H-16 or H-17) and you are not seeking to upgrade your accreditation from verifier status to lead verifier status, then you only need to watch the training webinar.  No exam is required.

As a reminder, CARB staff will be holding training for new verifiers and existing verifiers who seek to add a sector-specific accreditation, beginning February 26, 2018.  Additional details about this training were announced via this listserv on October 28, 2017.

Also, note that the compliance offset verification program has separate accreditation and training requirements.
