ITEM Installation Schedule for Retrofit Devices on 1955-65 Motor Vehicles in the Bay Area. RECOMMENDATION Adopt Resolution 72-39F. DISCUSSION On September 27, 1972, the board adopted Resolution 72-39D, which established a 1955-65 retrofit program in San Diego County on December 1, 1972 and further established a target date of March 1, 1973 for the Bay Area. Adoption of Resolution 72-39F would establish March 1, 1973 as the commencement date for installation of retrofit devices on 1955-65 motor vehicles in the San Francisco Bay Area. This commencement date for the Bay Area appears to be acceptable to General Motors, Air Quality Products, Bureau of Automotive Repair, Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Highway Patrol. At the request of the Department of Motor Vehicles, all of Sonoma and Solano counties are included in the installation program even though portions of these counties were excluded from the San Francisco Bay Area Air Basin by the Board in 1971. ITEM Ad-Hoc Medical Advisory Committee. ISSUE Information Report. DISCUSSION Attached is a draft of the report of the Ad-Hoc Medical Advisory Committee meeting held October 23, 1972 at the Hilton Inn, San Francisco Airport. The draft was forwarded to the members of the committee for review. The committee members were asked to contact Dr. Goldsmith right away if there were any additions or corrections to the report. A member of the committee will present the committee's report and recommendations at this Board meeting. AGENDA ITEM 7 TO BE PRESENTED AT BOARD MEETING. ITEM Staff Report on variances issued or extended for longer than a year during the period from July 1, 1971 to June 30, 1972. ISSUE What should be the Air Resources Board's policy for reviewing these variances? RECOMMENDATION 1. Variances reported will be summarized annually for Board review, with an indication of those needing investigation. 2. If the Board concurs, investigations will be made and results reported case by case. 3. The Board will determine from the staff reports if actions are required pursuant to Section 39054.2 of the Health and Safety Code. AGENDA ITEM 10a TO BE PRESENTED AT BOARD MEETING.
