Public Hearing - Amendments to the California Air Pollution
Emergency Plan.

                          RECOMMENDATION

That the Board adopt Resolution 76-33, thereby amending the
California Air Pollution Emergency Plan set forth in the staff
report.

                             SUMMARY

On May 28, 1976 the Board amended the Air Pollution Emergency
Plan to establish additional criteria for sulfate-oxidant
episodes and for sulfur dioxide-oxidant episodes but deferred
consideration of proposed abatement actions for such episodes
until after the receipt of more data and information from the
public and the affected industries.  As directed by the Board,
two workshops have been held to obtain additional information. 
Modifications of proposed abatement actions are being proposed as
a result of staff evaluation of the information obtained at the
workshops.  The staff report includes a summary of the workshop
discussions and the staff proposals.
